Soon-to-be Seamstress

Good Morning!
I'm super excited about my awesome find this weekend.  First off, my Mom got me a Brother CS-6000i for Christmas.  I had yet to take it out of the box because I live in an apartment and didn't have anywhere to store it.  I was looking for sewing tables with storage online for awhile and found the cheapest one at Walmart for $127 with tax and shipping.  Well, in my never ending craigslist search for a buffet table/cabinet for my dining room, I came across this thrift shop in Burlington.  As I was looking at their current inventory, I came across this beauty for a whopping $25!!!!

And they only charged me $5 to deliver to my apartment!!  I am soooo excited, now I just have to cancel my order from Walmart!

It has a place for me to put my sewing machine underneath and it even fits my printer.  Now I have a place to store all of my craft supplies and a table that I can craft on so that I don't always have to clear off my dining room table!  It's the little things...

In other news, this morning I am working on a super secret project for a friend that I am also very excited about.  This is my first time really doing something on my own without step by step instructions so I will do my best to take pictures along the way and post my very first tutorial!!!

I hope everyone has a great morning and I'll keep you updated on my first sewing project!

Introduction

Hello and welcome!
I've decided to start this blog because I spend a lot of time making various crafts and I wanted a way to share them.  I like to knit and crochet.  This past year for Christmas I made a LOT of crafts and find that people's blogs have been extrememely helpful with tutorials and instructions on how to do these types of thiings.  I would like to add my blog into the mix and hopefully help some other creatively impaired person make something that they can be proud of.

I use the term "creatively impaired" to describe myself.  Now, I don't want to say that I lack creativity, but I have found that my skills lie in the execution of the project.  I am very good at following directions.  This is why I succeed at knitting and crocheting (I almost always use a pattern), cooking (always with a recipe), and doing any other type of craft - someone has thought of it first and I am just following their directions.

I hope that I can start to create ideas of my own that I can share with anyone who decides to read my blog.  I'll start by posting some pictures of my most recent projects with links to the tutorials or patterns I used.  Thanks a lot for reading and I hope you find something helpful!
